The cottage used to be the workers cottage when Bois Blanc was a cognac estate. It was only one story high, had an old tin roof, earth floor and no facilities. When we bought Bois Blanc it was overgrown with brambles and completely covered up to the roof on one side by a pile of old tyres! The front wall was falling down and had 2 old stone buttresses keeping it upright. We completely renovated the structure from the foundations up keeping as many of the original features as we could but adding 21st century conveniences!
Designed for a couple or two plus two, the cottage has kept its original stone exterior and gained a contemporary interior. The main bedroom, with a king size bed, is on a mezzanine and overlooks the living area. The second bedroom downstairs has 2 single beds; all beds have full tempur mattresses. The modern kitchen is German and fully equipped and there is underfloor heating. The Italian wet room has a spacious walk-in ‘rain’ shower and a basin were the water flows from the mirror! For entertainment there is Wifi, an Apple Mac Mini multi-media system for CD, DVD and Music and a Bose speaker system. There are 2 private terraces - you choose between the sun or the shade!
