The Cottage

As night falls..........

The Cottage used to be the workers cottage when Bois Blanc was a cognac estate. It was only one story high, had an old tin roof, earth floor and no facilities. When we bought Bois Blanc it was overgrown with brambles and completely covered up to the roof on one side by a pile of old tyres! The front wall was falling down and had 2 old stone buttresses keeping it upright. We completely renovated the structure from the foundations up keeping as many of the original features as we could but adding 21st century conveniences!

Designed for a couple The Cottage has kept its original stone exterior and gained a contemporary interior. The master bedroom, with a king size bed with full tempur mattress, is on a mezzanine and overlooks the living area. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and the property has underfloor heating. The shower room has a spacious walk-in ‘rain’ shower and a basin were the water flows from the mirror! On the ground floor there is a spacious and light office/workroom with large desk and 2 chairs. The Cottage is equipped with Wifi, and an Apple iMac with a Bose speaker system. There is a full Spotify account for music. The property has 2 private terraces and a private garden - you choose between the sun or the shade!

North terrace

The North terrace is a wooden decking equipped with a Royal Botania outdoor table and chairs and a Weber charcoal BBQ. The Cottage has a private garden and is not overlooked. There is a lovely stone bench under the lime tree.
