Booking Conditions

 
1 Lettings:

 

These run from 4pm Saturday to 10am the following Saturday, however shorter breaks are possible outside the high season by prior arrangement.  In the high season (denoted in yellow on our booking table) we only book by the week Saturday to Saturday.

 


2 Capacity
:  

 

The capacity stated in the property description is the maximum, we do not add extra beds.
 
Guests are not allowed to invite extra people to the property above the capacity of the property unless this has been specifically agreed with the owners prior to arriving for your holiday.

 

3 Families
:

 

Children above 7 years are welcome in our Cottage but please note that there are areas and stone floors, open mezzanines, stairs and terraces which are not safe for very young children.  Our Barn is not suitable for children, Parents and guardians are reminded that it is their responsibility entirely for the supervision and safety of their children during your stay at all times.   

 


4 Baby Equipment
: 


 

No baby equipment is available.

 

 
5 Accommodation:
 


 

Our accommodation is described on our website and in our information folder.  A welcome pack is included on arrival with basic produce for your first evening meal and breakfast if you are staying more than 4 days. 
Great care and thought has been taken to furnish and equip both Cottage and Barn to a high standard . We do understand that sometimes items get broken or damaged accidently. Please tell us as soon as you can so that we can replace them for the next guests.
 We do not normally charge for breakages of small inexpensive items but we will charge for replacement items such as towels, duvet covers, knives, pans and larger items.

 


6  No Smoking:



In accordance with European regulations smoking is not allowed in any of the properties or the buildings on site or in the pool area. You may smoke on the terraces and in the garden but please do not leave smoking litter around.

 


 
7 Cleaning:
 

 


All our properties are cleaned for your arrival.  During your stay we would ask you to take good care of the property; and leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of your rental, with all rubbish bagged, ready for the next guests.  Please do not use cleaning products on the natural stone floors of either property.  This may stain the floor and is expensive to have removed. Please just use water. Should your property be left in a poor condition or if there is damage to the structure, furniture or equipment, we may have to deduct these expenses from your security deposit.
 


 

8 Linen: 

 


Bed linen, house-towels and pool/beach towels are all provided.  Please only take the beach towels to the pool and beach not the house towels. If you are staying 2 weeks, a change of bed linen will be provided for you mid-stay.
 
All our linen is from the White Company and if we have to replace linen, due to damage or stains from sun tan lotions or oils, we will replace with White Company items.  

 

9 Swimming Pool:
 


 

The pool is open from June to October (weather dependent).  You may use the pool whenever you want during your stay as there are no pool times. The pool is shared between the Barn and Cottage. Please be respectful of other visitors while you are around the pool and try not to be loud (such as screaming or shouting) or annoying as it is a shared area. The pool area is illuminated at night and there are in-pool lights. The pool is only heated directly by the sun, reaching about 28C in mid July - Aug. Please keep the main pool cover on when not in the pool area to help keep the heat in the pool.  The pool is 12 x 6 metres with a 4 x 4 meter shallow steps area.  The depth is approximately 1.2 metres in the shallow end graduating down to 2 metres in the deep end. The pool is situated within its own landscaped enclosure and is accessed via a locked gate.  Visitors will be given a key to the pool area on arrival.  The gate must be kept locked at all times in accordance with French law. Use of the swimming pool is entirely at the visitors own risk. The owners accept no liability. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 16 at all times.

10 Heating and Water:
 
The Cottage and Barn both have under floor heating, and 'reasonable' use of water, gas and electricity is included in your rental.  Water is metered so please do not leave taps running. Visitors may be charged for excessive use of gas, water or electricity. The hot water in the Barn is provided by a solar hot water system.
 
11 Internet Access:
 
The Cottage and Barn both have wifi internet connections. Visitors should note that we are in a rural location and the quality of the connection can vary.  We are not responsible for the quality and cannot guarantee continuous internet connection.
 
12 Pets:
 
We regret that pets are not allowed.
 
13 Insurance:
 
It is vital that you make your own arrangements regarding holiday insurance to protect yourself and your family against medical expenses, cancellation of your holiday and other losses that may be incurred. 
 
14 General Liability:
 
Due to the nature of our business, we can accept no responsibility for any loss, injury, death or damage, which might be incurred while staying on site at Bois Blanc. The owner shall not be liable to the client; for any temporary defect or stoppage of public services to the property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in the property, garden or swimming pool; for any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes or other matters beyond the control of the owners; for any loss¸ damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the client if the property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period and in any such event, the owner shall, within seven days of notification to the client, refund the client all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period.

 

Clients should note that Bois Blanc is in a rural area surrounded by vines.  You should be aware that there will, from time to time, be farming and vineyard related activity happening around the property. There may also be noises from machinery, neighbours and such things as dogs barking and church bells ringing. You should also be aware that there may be wild insects, animals and birds around the property for which the owner has no control or accepts any liability for.   

 

The pictures we post on our website are as accurate as we can make them, but we may from time to time change items in the property due to breakages and wear and tear without being able to change the photographs. Our photographs are therefore no-contractual and we are not obliged to provide replacements for any items found not to be at the property but shown in the photographs.
 
15 Limit of Liability:
 
Under no circumstances shall the owner’s liability to the Client exceed the amount paid to the owner for the rental period.

 

16 Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel any time up to 10 weeks before your holiday dates ( midday on the specified day) you will forfeit your booking deposit.  After the 10 week point you will have fully paid for your holiday. If you cancel after the 10 week point we will re-advertise the period you have booked.  If we manage to re-book the period we will refund you the cost of your holiday minus any fees it cost us to re-advertise the holiday.  If we are unable to find another client to rent the weeks (by midday of the day you would have started your holiday) then you will forfeit the full payment of your holiday.  You should take out insurance to cover this eventuality.   

17 Minimum Periods of Rental:

Out of the high season we may rent the Cottage and Barn for periods of less than 7 days. The minimum period of rental for the Barn is 3 days and for the Cottage 4 Days:

If, during your holiday, you should encounter any problems we shall do our utmost to help, even when we do not accept responsibility and have no legal obligation to do so.
